Map and source reference
The map and text are copied from the book “Sweden’s Minor Railways 1802–1865” by Ivan A. Bodstedt, published in 1945 on behalf of the Swedish State Railways.
Permission to use the copied text from the book was granted by the Swedish Railway Museum in Gävle.
Their hope was that this could help create a greater interest in railway history.
Track gauge
The track gauge stated in the book is considered incorrect by several sources.
The correct gauge is 28 Swedish inches (verktum) = 693 mm.
The siding to Blankagruvan
The approximately 500-metre-long siding leading to Blankagruvan, shown on the map in figure 1, is an interesting detail that I had not heard about previously.
However, it is quite natural that the transport opportunity offered by the proximity to the Yngs–Daglöse Railway was utilized.
