A Visit around Kutgruvan
The area around Kutgruvan is very interesting and well worth a visit.
If you continue along the path past Kutgruvan towards the south – and have sturdy legs – you will after approximately 100 metres reach the path at Braskegruvan.
Brief History
Kutgruvan, also known as Västra Kutgruvan, is most likely a very old mine that is mentioned in historical records:
- Year 1855: ”Here only insignificant work has been carried out, by taking down ore left since old times from the hanging wall and the roof. Whether or not the floor is ore-bearing has not been possible to determine, inasmuch as the same has not been accessible due to water.”
