The wheel at Hagefallet supplied Östra Hagegruvorna with mechanical power via an approximately 550-meter-long artificial channel.
No remains of the wheel pit exist today, but the wheel was probably located roughly at the same site as Risfallshjulet, which was built in 1870.
When the canal was re-regulated during the 1860s, the wheel was removed and the canal was extended by about 500 meters to Soviken, where a new artificial wheel was built to meet the Hagegruvorna mines’ power needs.
Previously, the mines received power from a wheel located downstream of Gubbdammen. The distance from the wheel at Gubbdammen to Hagegruvorna was 4015 alnar (≈2385 meters).
In total, there were 14 bends between the wheel and the mine where the artificial channel changed direction, either vertically or horizontally.
