There is a whole series of mines on the northern half of the island. The largest are Sjö Mine, Karl Mine, Vik Mine, Stor Mine, and Storstens Mine on the northwestern point.
Additional mines mentioned in the reports include Smörhålet, Smör Mine, Stens Mine, Sköl Mine, Brännings Mine, Rost Mine, Udd Mine, and Smed Mine.
The last of these mines was closed in the 1870s.
On the eastern side of the island toward the north, only about ten metres from the lake, there is an impressive cluster of mines. Along a stretch of 180 metres, the mines lie closely one after another.
In the northeastern part of the island, the landscape is very beautiful, with old, untouched forest.
Higher up on the island there are remains of a dwelling house with an associated root cellar and cultivated land. Very little remains of the house itself, but the root cellar is almost intact and will probably last another hundred years.
